Krankenhaus-Erlebnisse
Medizinisch fühlen wir uns hier bisher sehr gut versorgt. Auch im Hinblick auf COVID haben wir zumindest hier in der Hauptstadt die besseren Karten. Trotzdem gibt es manche Unterschiede zur medizinischen Situation in Deutschland. Einige Erlebnisse:
Es ist üblich dass ein Familienangehöriger mit ins Krankenhaus kommt um für den Kranken zu sorgen. Es gibt Pflegepersonal, doch diese sind nicht für die Rundum-Versorgung da. Beim Krankenhausaufenthalt zu Judiths Geburt war deshalb Jonathan die meiste Zeit mit dabei und wir waren froh dass Noah gut zuhause betreut werden konnte. Es gibt eine Klingel um das Pflegepersonal zu rufen, doch wir erlebten dass der Empfänger der Fernbedienung bei den Krankenschwestern gar nicht eingesteckt war. Das ist normal auch kein Problem, denn es ist ja immer jemand dabei der Hilfe holen könnte….
Auch beim Frauenarzt läuft es anders als in Deutschland. Dieser führt nur Gespräche und verschreibt Medikamente. Für Ultraschall, Blutabnahme, Urinprobe und was sonst alles anfällt bei einer Schwangerschaft muss jeweils ein anderer Arzt/Ort aufgesucht werden. So kommen schon einmal vier bis sechs Termine zusammen für etwas, wofür es in Deutschland nur einen Termin bräuchte. Wenn der Frauenarzt doch mal eine Untersuchung machen sollte, kann es vorkommen, dass er die Liege dafür erst einmal selbst zusammen schrauben muss.
Bei der ersten Platzwunde von Noah über dem Auge (direkt in der Augenbraue) lernten wir “La Gotita” kennen. Wir waren mit dem schreienden Kind in der Notaufnahme, der Arzt schaute sich die Wunde an und schickte Jonathan erst einmal zur Apotheke, um “La Gotita” zu kaufen. Dieses tropfte der Arzt dann auf die Wunde um sie zusammenzukleben. Wegen den Haaren an der Augenbraue hielt kein Pflaster. Wir nahmen an dass dies ein medizinisches Produkt ist. Dass man es auch im paraguayischen Baumarkt kaufen kann als Alleskleber und es wirklich in Sekundenschnelle trocknet und stark klebt wussten wir damals noch nicht. Sonst wären wir wohl etwas besorgter gewesen, als der Arzt über dem Auge mit der offenen Tube hantierte! Manchmal ist es besser nicht alles zu wissen… Mittlerweile sind zu Noahs Platzwundensammlung drei weitere dazugekommen und wir werden immer geübter und gelassener bei der Verarztung…
